The manufacturer has called the process a “cycling technology” in which the full 1600 watts of power is shifted from the top to the bottom heating elements in turn. This allows the oven to accurately keep the temperature steady.
Combine that shifting technology with a well designed crumb tray on bottom that is made to reflect heat into all four corners of the oven. This provides an all around even heating process, and when in defrost mode this comes in very handy. If you have ever tried to thaw out meat in a microwave you know what uneven heating sources can do. Some spots come out frozen still while others are already cooked thoroughly. This does not happen with the FBC4 toaster oven from Krups! Whether toasting, defrosting, or baking cookies, the evenly distributed heat will do the job efficiently.
It must be noted that the Krups FBC4 Toaster Oven is basically the same oven as the KBC5 oven that is currently on the market. There really are no differences between the two models, other than the newer model 5 comes in sterling silver and white, while the 4 model comes in sterling silver and black.
Either Krups toaster oven is an excellent purchase, but you may be able to find the KBC4 model a little cheaper now that there is another model on the market. Whether you want the white or black may also make a difference in your selection, but regardless of your choice here your food will be safe in this oven.

The Cuisinart TOB-50 classic toaster oven is really an awesome deal to bake fish for a family of 4 and in quick time too! Anything from prepared fish sticks to fish with sauces, tater tots gets perfect. Some people say that the doors are weak but 9 out of 10 do not find it a problem. It works as promised.

The simple answer to this question is that it does not use a twist and turn timer like most toaster ovens. It apparently uses an electronic timer. You set the controls to Dark, Medium, Light or somewhere in between and a bell will chime three times when your toast is ready and it will automatically shut off. You will need to experiment to see just where you like your setting to be for your personal taste. I really like this feature. The bread crumb tray removes from the rear but that does not bother me. With Cuisinart parts are easy to get on their web site if you ever need a new tray or knob. The cord is short on this unit for safety reasons.
When you will try to bake turkey loaves and casseroles, you would actually find it great. And even cornbread! Though it isn’t big enough to hold a 13x9x2″ pan (as the Euro Pro was), it will hold a 9x9x2″ nicely (it is a toaster oven after all). Since the elements are only a few inches from the top of the 9x9x2″ pan, there is a little trick to making cornbread. Cornbread tends to toast and burn on the top, but if you make sure to preheat your oven, and turn the temperature down 25 degrees, you won’t have a problem. Even with the temp turned down, your cornbread will probably be done 5 minutes early! Did I mention this thing cooks fast? Cuisinart toaster oven is a nice looking toaster oven and 95% or more of all the reviews all over the internet gives it 4-5 stars. If you do not need convection, we highly recommend this Cuisinart TOB-50 Classic Toaster Oven.
